How to Set Up a CNC Gabion Mesh Machine Before Production: A Practical Pre-Start Checklist

How to Set Up a CNC Gabion Mesh Machine Before Production: A Practical Pre-Start Checklist

2026-10-06

Why Preparation Before Full Production Matters

A completed installation does not mean a CNC gabion mesh machine is ready for immediate high-speed production. If the wire, tension, mesh opening parameters or lubrication are not correctly adjusted, wire breakage, uneven mesh, unstable twisting and abnormal machine wear can appear within minutes. A systematic check before the first full run is therefore essential. A few minutes of preparation can prevent hours of production problems.

Step 1: Check the Wire and Raw Material

Confirm that the wire diameter matches both the machine specification and the order requirement. Inspect galvanized, Galfan or PVC-coated wire for heavy bends, tangles or surface defects. Make sure each wire coil is mounted correctly and the feeding direction is right. Different wire diameters require the correct machine settings and feeding conditions, so never assume the previous job's setup still applies.

Step 2: Check Wire Feeding and Tension

Walk through the entire wire feeding path and inspect the tension device before start-up. Confirm that every wire runs smoothly without dragging or overlapping. Tension that is too high tends to break wire, while tension that is too low can make the mesh opening and forming unstable. JINLIDA machines use a reinforced wire tension system to support stable wire feeding during long production runs.

Step 3: Set Mesh Opening and Twist Parameters

This is the most important technical step. Set the mesh opening according to the order, confirm the twist length, and check the double-twist and five-twist settings. Enter and verify all production parameters through the CNC control system before running the machine. Start at low speed for the first few meters, then check whether the single mesh opening is even and the edges are clean and straight. Keep the parameters focused on the actual order instead of overloading the setup.

Step 4: Check Lubrication and Moving Parts

Inspect the lubrication system and confirm that moving parts turn without unusual resistance. Check key positions such as guide plates and forming parts, and verify that the automatic lubrication system is working normally. Before any long high-speed production run, always confirm the lubrication status. JINLIDA machines feature automatic oil refill and durable mechanical components to reduce wear.

Step 5: Run a Short Test Before Full Production

Never start with full-speed production immediately. Begin with a low-speed test and check wire feeding, mesh opening, and twisting one by one. Listen for unusual noise or vibration, and confirm that the automatic stop functions respond correctly. Only after the test run is stable should you move to normal production.

Turning a Good Setup into Stable Production

Good gabion mesh production starts before the first full production run. JINLIDA CNC gabion mesh machines are designed to make this preparation process more controlled, with CNC parameter settings, stable wire feeding, automatic lubrication and safety stop functions.
